This is a photo album made as a wedding gift for two friends of mine.

The video tape next to the book is for scale. I no longer have the book and do not recall the measurements. However, the tape is a standard VHS tape.

The materials are plywood, goat skin, binders board and a woven based imitation leather and "Confetti" paper from C.J. Duffy in Minneapolis, MN.

After sewing the text block, rounding, headbands, etc., I made a half leather cover with .110 binders board. On the front and back covers I used a woven based black morocco imitation from Gane Brothers. The spine is a navy-blue goat skin from J. Hewit & Sons Ltd. in the UK.

The black morocco imitation is mostly unseen due to the plywood cover and endpapers covering most of the binders board cover.

There are raised bands were made with just a cord under the leather on the backstrip. There is also a paper tube glued to the spine of the book and backstrip to help distribute some of the extra weight from the plywood.

The plywood was dimpled with a drill press. I forget the diameter of the holes. The plywood and purple stain was purchased at a Rockler Woodworking store in Minneapolis.

After the varnish dried I used contact cement to adhere the plywood covers to the binders board covers. I let that dry under weights for 36 hours.

After the cover was completed I cased-in the text block. I also dried that under weight for about 24 hours.
